Dovorany Orthodontics

Three Things You Should Know About Braces.

Braces do more than give you a beautiful smile. Orthodontic treatment can improve your ability to chew, to keep your teeth clean, to effectively use your jaw muscles, to speak and - yes - to build your self-confidence and willingness to smile.

Orthodontic treatment at a young age may reduce a child's need for braces. The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends an orthodontic screening for children by the age of 7. We can screen your child at one of our offices in Wausau, Antigo or Wittenberg to identify potential spacing problems, to assess your child's bite, and to monitor jaw growth while the patient's skeleton is still growing and flexible. While treatment is often not necessary at this young age, we can monitor the child's development and take preventative steps that can prevent serious orthodontic problems later.

Only orthodontists are specially trained to handle the complexities of orthodontic treatment. Many orthodontic problems are quite complex, involving the growth patterns of the face as well as misaligned teeth. Dr. Dovorany is a specialist in orthodontics and has completed postdoctoral residency training and utilizes the latest technologies — digital x-rays, SureSmile and Invisalign — to bring healthy beautiful smiles to the greater Wausau area.
